In Northern California Wine Regions, there is a Native American legend that tells of the Miwok Indians traveling at night through the Sonoma Valley. Against back drop of the Mayacama mountains, in a night’s passage they would see the moon rise and fall seven times from behind the mountains. This is why the Sonoma Valley is also known as the Valley of the Many Moons.
Our brand, Seventh Moon, embodies this legend and the Seventh Moon symbolizes all the joy experience at the end of a well traveled journey. Like our wine, the moon is a source of inspiration, reflection and romance.
Our winemaker, Hugh Reimers, has had a tremendous influence on the style of our Seventh Moon wines. Hugh was born in Barossa Valley, Australia, and earned an oneology degree from the prestigious Roseworthy Agricultural College, Adelaide University. He spent three years as the head winemaker for Yalumba Wine Company, and is responsible for all Seventh Moon winemaking at Pacific Wine Partners in Monterey.
